While it's true that there are certain fundamental principles that most (but not all) hygienists follow and recommend, when we start talking about the finer points there is a wide divergence of opinion. Everyone has their favored theories about what we should be eating. And everyone seems to want to either blame one food for more than its share of responsibility for our ills (like fat, for example), or give it more credit than it is due (like greens or nuts). The extent to which this information influences what a person eats is a function of many things, like what the person *wants* to eat or is used to eating, what makes sense to him/her, where s/he in transition, what the person's goals are, etc., etc. What you're eating now (or what you will be eating after you stop fasting) is different from what you'll be eating a year or two from now, and the changes will be a result of your having learned not only from your body but from what you hear from other people. Initially, in transition, more of our eating decisions are based on 'outside information. Gradually that changes as we re-learn how to read our bodies. To me, the ideal goal is to be able to trust our bodies to make all those decisions for us. In the meantime, there's no reason to put a lot of pressure on yourself to know the exact needs of your body. Eat what you like within the proper range of foods (fruits, vegetables, nuts/seeds), and trust that eventually you'll be able to make all the correct choices based on your body's signals. The human body is extremely resilient. Consider how long it takes the SAD way of eating to kill a person. In most cases, many decades. If you make a mistake while eating raw, it's just like taking a wrong turn in a friendly neighborhood. You'll get lots of chances to figure out where you went wrong and get back on track.

I also wanted to mention that the information you'll find on this site and list is different in that it advocates trusting nature 100%. Everyone else wants to rely on modern concepts of nutritional "science" to one degree or another. The information I like to give out has the potential to lead us away from "science", gurus and charts, and back to ourselves.
