| "Before and After" pictures Gosia's story Luke's story: Greetings, I’m Luke, and I had the good fortune to meet Gosia about 6 years ago due to our devotion to Sri Mata Amritanandamayi. At that time Gosia cooked for me and recommended and practiced Macro-Biotic cooking. I am a nervous person due to a disturbing start in life and as a consequence I have always eaten big meals. After eating Gosia’s macrobiotic cooking for 5 years I was 10 kilograms overweight. Despite a disdain I held for Gosia’s interest in Hollywood gossip, it was thanks to her interest in this that Gosia noticed that Demi Moore was a raw foodist and that she had regained her youthful figure! My neurosis has resulted in me having skin problems. So, two summers ago I ventured into a liver-cleansing-detox. The reason I mention this is to share the resistance I experienced prior to embarking on that diet. The prospect of change was terrifying! However the actual experience was completely uplifting and rewarding. Although that detox didn’t address my lifelong problem of psychotic masochism (bashing my ears in my sleep), it did help me to feel clear and sharp, and solved my wart problem. Similarly, when Gosia embarked upon the raw food diet one year ago, I resisted for a few weeks. The cooked food conditioning can be hard to break. Yet, with information regarding the effects of too much protein resulting in the mucic plaque and the simple fact that cooking basically kills food rendering it useless and learning to rely on what my body really likes, I have successfully adopted a raw food diet too. It has become clear to Gosia and I that eating cooked food is toxic. This has been evident in both of us having pimples a day or so after eating cooked food, on those rare occasions when we are unprepared and succumb to the dominant paradigm. The benefits of eating raw food can exceed the purely physical and enter the social. For example, we had a most pleasantly surprising encounter with a family whom Gosia had met on the web, who came for a raw lunch. They are a fascinating couple and Simon played blues on Gosia’s piano in a truly inspiring fashion, he was awesomely groovy! I’m currently becoming a primary school teacher, and one of my colleagues asked me how I look so young. It’s simple, I said, I only eat raw food. (2004) Gosia's story |
