Shared joy is a double joy; shared sorrow is half a sorrow.
(Swedish proverb)
Only your real friends will tell you when your face is dirty.

Your friend is that man who knows all about you, and still likes you.
(Elbert Hubbard)
You can always tell a real friend; when you've made a fool of yourself he doesn't feel you've done a permanent job.

I am travelling to Italy next Sunday, for a week. I look forward to eating fruit bought from local markets. I was able to get the addresses of food markets off the Internet. It's is winter here, but it will be summer there, how delightful! Yes, I think that I am a "tropical monkey". I do prefer tropical fruit and I do prefer warm weather. I gathered a bunch of Italian phrases useful for raw vegans. When I come back, I will put them up on a Tips page, along with some travelling tips, including tips for China, where I've been last year. Last year I was not very confident about my ability to remain even high-raw while abroad, but I did! This year I am more confident. Fruit and salads should be easy to get in Italy. Also, I'll take some halva with me.

OK, so I found out that I cannot take any fruit with me either way. I will have to find something else to eat on a plane! Oh, well I will survive... I'll take some nuts and halva.

Both Luke and I observed that we do not drink as much water as we used to before raw. We hardly ever get thirsty, as we both eat heaps of juicy fruit. I actually prefer now eating juicy fruit than drinking water, when I feel the need to hydrate.

I feel really comfortable now on a high-fruit diet (I hate that word, it implies deprivation, which it is not at all!). I love fruit, I love my daily evening green salad (and I sleep well after it).  I like the simplicity of it as well as playing with making up recipes. I am not a chef, but I certainly am more confident now than I was a year ago. I started making my own creations. I also learn from others. For example, there is this Jake on vegsource forum, who posted a few of his (low-fat) creations, which gave me some ideas. I prefer un-dehydrate recipes, which involve mostly chopping, blending and mixing. But, most of the time, I eat fruit. Mono. I love it this way.

I enjoy keeping in touch on-line with other raw foodists. There are some lovely people out there.

Have a wonderful day!

I find it hard sometimes to get on with my life when I hear about the suffering of other beings, especially when children are involved. Am I doing enough?

Lokah Samasta Sukhino Bhavantu.
May all beings, everywhere, be happy and free.
And may the thoughts and actions of my own life contribute, in some way,
to that happiness and to that freedom for all.
