| The recipes below can be useful in your
transition to raw.
However, in
the longer term, I recommend that you gradually simplify your diet. The
optimal raw food diet consists of wholesome foods and is free of
spices, herbs, oils, "superfoods" and supplements.. Please note that
this page is the reflection of
where I have
been in my raw foods journey. From the day I created this page, I had
to change it multiple times. For example, I do not l
ike using cocoa anymore, because it negatively affects my sleep. I have
observed a similar, sleep-disturbing effect after eating onion/garlic
(which I left in the recipes, but do not recommend in the longer term).
Or, I
do not make wheat bread anymore (although the recipe is still
here), but prefer flax-seed bread, if any. Also, I got rid of salt (all
types, including Celtic) in my recipes, after realizing its toxic and
addictive nature. Further, I am
not
using as much fat in my diet as I used to at first. I do not eat that
many nuts either. My favourite foods are
fruit!!! I also like greens and some other vegies. What is my favourite recipe? Eat fruit just the way it is! When I go to work, I take a bag of fruit with me. I munch on fruit throughout the day. The evening, when I get home, is the time when I prepare some recipes. Why do I do it? For my family, to tempt my children, for fun and to expand the variety of foods. My vegetable favourites are salads and soups. My fast food (apart from fruit of course) is flat bread with avocado and carrot/a leftover salad, or simply a lettuce leaf filled with cut up vegies. One day I blended sweet ripe bananas with raspberries. Julia and Odys absolutely loved it, which gave me a hint that I should make yummy things like this more often. I am working on it. Blended
